Thanks, M Clover, that's a good point - we actually cover this topic in the first few episodes in the podcast, which explain the purchase process in detail, and also in a few other episodes along the way, but it's been too long, we definitely should mention it again :)

Hi, M Clover - all documents generated in Japan are always 100% in Japanese, and Japanese professionals we normally work with would not be able to provide translations - this is one of the main reasons our clients hire our services. We provide ad-hoc summary translations of all important matters to English via our standard correspondence, mainly via email, and have the authority to communicate with all entities involved, sign documents etc, in Japanese, on the clients' behalf, so no official translation or interpretation is required beyond that. If at any point our clients require full and certified translations of any particular document, they do need to do so at their own expense.

Thank you for the very informative podcast. Question; are the due diligence documents, contracts, etc all in Japanese? Do you translate them? Does the real estate agency provide translations? Or is it the responsibility of the client to have them translated? Thank you in advance!
